Blackjack Development

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Blackjack is possibly one of the most well-known games wagered on in betting houses. Blackjack is also known as "twenty one" or "pontoon." The game is a mix of luck and ability coupled with choices. The card game has evolved over a set amount of time. Players have specialized in certain skills like "card card counting," with which they shift the edge in the game in the players direction. The card game has been around since the 1700s. References can be located in historical scriptures to a card game known as "vingt-et-un," which means twenty one in French, and is considered the ancestor to blackjack.

The card game was originally not so popular in the u.s.. This caused the betting houses attempting a variety of things like offering a bonus in case of a ten to one pay out, if the black jack player got an ace of spades and a black jack. The jack could be either the jack of clubs or jack of spades. Once the game became popular, the bonus payout before long disappeared from the rules.

Any hand which achieves a sum of 21 is deemed a winner. The total should not go beyond 21, in which case the hand is considered to be "bust." The aim of each player is to beat the casino. If the black jack player and the casino both have an identical hand value, it is referred to as a "push" (a tie), with neither the player nor the dealer coming away with a win on the hand.
